The Kings of Poker Streaming

These 4 names won’t surprise hardcore poker fans, as they each possess a nearly cult-like following, but for those who haven’t yet tuned in I highly recommend checking out these channels.

It seems nearly everyone has a poker stream these days.  These 4 names won’t surprise hardcore poker fans, as they each posses a nearly cult-like following, but for those who haven’t yet tuned in I highly recommend checking out these channels.  Watching poker streaming can be an excellent way to improve your own game, but it’s also just fun and exciting.  These players allow you to enjoy the ride of high stakes tournament action and to see what they see along the way.

Doug Polk

https://www.twitch.tv/dougpolkpoker

Doug is Extremely entertaining and funny and plays at the highest stakes on this list.  He recently streamed a $100,000 buy in tournament (in which he didn’t cash) and just last month he set the record for the biggest win ever streamed with a cash of $455,000 for 2nd place in a $10,000 buy in event.  He puts a lot of effort into making the stream interesting and wears his emotions on his sleeve.  Doug considers himself to be the greatest heads up No Limit Hold’em player in the world and isn’t shy about saying it.  This rubs some people the wrong way and makes him a very polarizing figure in the poker world.  Fans either love him or hate him but one thing is for sure, his stream is extremely entertaining.  He doesn’t really think out loud like some of the other streamers, so his stream is not the best to learn in depth strategy.  But if you want to sweat high stakes action with a guy who isn’t afraid to scream and yell and jump out of his chair in excitement, Doug’s your guy.

Jaime Staples

Jaime is another streamer who wears his emotions on his sleeve and it’s really nice to enjoy the ride with him.  He talks a lot of strategy and outlines his thought process in great detail, so his stream is a great learning tool for beginners and intermediates.  He doesn’t play huge stakes, which makes it easier to identify with him as a viewer as he’s playing games that the average casual poker fan can afford.

Parker Talbot aka ‘Tonkaaaa’

Talbot is hilarious and insightful.  I love this stream because of the combination of comedy and strategic discussion.  ‘Tonkaaaa’ doesn’t make any huge decisions without laying out his thought process in great detail, and since he’s a successful high stakes pro, the information can be extremely valuable.

Jason Somerville aka ‘Jcarver’

https://www.twitch.tv/jcarverpoker

The ‘Godfather’ of poker streaming.  Jason’s stream is mandatory viewing for any true poker fan.  He’s a legend of the game, with millions in lifetime cashes.  He conducts the stream with humor and appears to be an extremely nice and friendly guy, basically the kind of person you wish you were best friends with.  Jason has created a loyal community and is very generous to his fans, often hosting online tournaments in which he contributes some of his own money to the prize pool.   He also talks through his thought process quite deeply and considers himself a teacher as well as an entertainer.  Jason’s stream has helped my game immensely and I recommend it to anyone who wants to get better.
