5 More Amazing Poker Cities

A look at a few global poker hot spots that every poker player should check out...

I’ve already covered the best poker cities in the world as well as a few warm weather winter poker getaways and some underrated places to play, but there’s just so many great places to play poker on this planet, so I thought I’d recommend a few more.

Tunica, Mississippi USA

Tunica is a nice option for American players looking to try something other than the usual Las Vegas or Los Angeles poker scene.  Located in Mississippi near the Tennessee border, it’s extremely close to Memphis, so you can visit two states in one trip.  The casino resort area in Tunica boasts an abundance of daily cash game and tournament action across several casinos.

Tampa, Florida USA

With the Hard Rock, Derby Lane and One-Eyed Jacks, Tampa is one of the best cities for poker in the United States.  There are two annual WPT events as well as a plethora of daily action across more than 100 poker tables citywide.

Vienna, Austria

Vienna is a great spot for poker in central Europe.  The Concord Card Casino Group has 3 cardrooms spread across the city each offering lots of daily action.  The games here are quite soft, with a lot of wealthy recreational players filling up the player pool.  Vienna is also a regular host of WPT and IPT events, which bring even more action to this thriving poker metropolis.  And if the promise of easy and lucrative poker action is not enough, Vienna is also a beautiful city with many wonderful sights to explore.

For those of you with deeper pockets, the poker scene in Singapore might be worth checking out. There aren’t many options for places to play, but there’s at least one large poker room at the moment with more likely to come in the future as the game continues to grow in popularity.  However, what Singapore lacks in game selection it more than makes up for in two very important ways: 1.) It’s an extremely wealthy city with tons of rich, unskilled gamblers looking to splash around, and 2.) It’s one of the safest cities in the world, with a very low crime rate, which means you’ll be perfectly safe walking back to your hotel with the piles of cash you’ll win at the poker tables.

London, UK

With major poker sites like 888, PokerStars and Party Poker hosting annual festivals here, as well as the abundance of local cardrooms and daily tournaments, London is one of the best places in the world to be a poker player.  In addition to the live scene, online poker is fully legal and untaxed in the UK.  So if you’re a poker player who can afford the high cost of living, London is absolutely the place to be.
